Wort aeration with paint mixer.

Frankie helps film my wort aeration method (vid is a tad shaky). I made a brown ale today. $7 for just the hops. Ouch. Economy is bad.

Frankie's comments were priceless! That is a really cool idea. Funny enough, today I was just thinking about buying an air pump to aerate my next batch...perhaps I will use a drill instead!

What's up Mike? Andrew of SlimPickinsPork.blogspot.com and I were just today mentioning how much we liked your site. I've been so busy, I haven't been around to my favs in a while.

I had one stuck fermentation long ago and never since I started using the paint stirrer (never used for paint by the way).

Also, try the air pump, I tried one long ago with an aeration stone and a perforated tube. Problem was it created many light bubbles and would foam over. Foamy/aerated enough, just not sure it actually aerated the entire wort enough.

I use the paint mixer near the surface to suck in a lot of air. But, without a dissolved oxygen meter (VERY expensive), we can only guess which works best.

Dave-great idea, I love it. Don't worry about Frankie, I'm sure someday she'll come around on the beer smell. I gotta get brewing again.

Thanks Dave...you and Andrew are always two places I love to go. Should I tell you now that I recently bought a baguette pan thanks to you?!

My friend Drew uses an air pump and seems to have success. I have read that it takes forever because of the bubbling reason you cite. I have heard that others use actual O2, but I'm not so sure I want to go to that extreme.

My last two batches have been misses. Going All-Grain is a new learning curve for me.

*Snort*! Frankie is so awesome. Annie says to tell her it will still stink when it is beer.

It's nice to see you making some brew!

Yes, we do have to work on her palate a bit. She only like wine right now.

There'll be a bottle (or two) with your name on it!
