Lighting up a pile of briquettes using just a couple lit ones atop a pile of unlit fuel is a great trick for a long slow burn. The snag? Lighting 2-3 briquettes can be pretty maddening! This is my trick for that. Puddle some lighter fluid** with a couple briquettes in a cup of foil, light and let burn off. About 5 minutes to two perfectly lit briquettes. You are welcome!
** If you don't want to use lighter fluid, 70% isopropanol works well too (or cask strength whisky).
